Oracle, essentially, takes over few city blocks of the heart of San Francisco. There are people with OpenWorld badges all over the place.

Here are a few facts about the conference that were mentioned as part of the keynote:

  • 43,000+ people in attendance
  • 1800+ conference sessions
  • 300+ product demos
  • 9000+ Oracle products represented

Speakers:

  • Gavin Newsom, Mayer of San Francisco
  • Ed Begely, actor & environmental activist
  • Safra Catz, Oracle CFO
  • James Carville & Mary Matalin, Married political consultants on opposite sides of the aisle

The opening keynote was interesting but really concentrated on greeninitiatives and the presidential election.
