E1Tips Qucik Tip

If you are an administrator on a Windows Server, one question that needs to be answered quite often is “How long has that server been up?” or “When was the last time that server was restarted?”. These questions can be quickly answered using the following steps:

  1. From a command line type net statistics server and press [Enter].
  2. On the resulting screen, the line that starts with “Statistics since …” provides the time that the server started up.

Notes:

  1. The command net stats srv can be used as a shortcut.
  2. The command net statistics workstation can be used if you are on a workstation rather than a server.
